Aislinn Kottwitz Announces Run for City Council Seat
Fort Collins, CO – Aislinn Kottwitz announced that she is running for City Council. She is seeking election from District 3.
District 3 is located in southeast Fort Collins mostly south of Harmony Road and east of College Avenue. This seat is currently held by Diggs Brown. Having been called to active military service late last year, Brown is not seeking reelection.
Kottwitz, age 29, said she is running because she is concerned about the future of Fort Collins. “Being a mom has changed me,” she said. “We must protect our future by working hard today.” Kottwitz and her husband, Mike Kottwitz, had a baby girl seven months ago.
Her campaign will focus on job retention, creation, and attraction; responsible and responsive government; and improving the health and safety of our community, according to Kottwitz.
Kottwitz is an intensive care nurse. “As a nurse, my first job is to be a patient advocate. I’m the last line of defense for the patient,” Kottwitz said. She desires to be an advocate for the citizens of District 3, she said.
Kottwitz is originally from Rocky Ford, Colorado. She moved to Fort Collins in 1997 to pursue a degree in Biology from Colorado State University. Kottwitz attended nursing school at Front Range Community College and became a Registered Nurse in 2005. She has worked the last three years at Poudre Valley Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit.

Diggs Brown Endorses Aislinn!
"As a first responder, the ability to make the right decision in the heat of pressure is critical. As an ICU nurse Aislinn has exercised that capability for her patients. We need cool heads and decisivethinkers on the Fort Collins City Council. Aislinn Kottwitz is the right person at the right time to continue the work I started in District 3. I urge your support of Aislinn, when you get your ballots, please remember to fill it out, and vote for Aislinn Kottwitz."
